Be it a film about climbing mountains or be it the one about breaking mountains, it is the human spirit that plays a vital role in triumph. Team spirit, discipline, determination and above all, the 'never-say-die' attitude make commendable stories that reaffirm your faith in the survival instinct. And then, there are always disasters.

Everest is a film based on the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. Climbers with immense experience set out to conquer the highest peak in the world only to be blown away by a disaster no one could've imagined. The film showcases the lives, the families, their backgrounds and relationships and their zeal to conquer the Everest. A quote from the film beautifully summarizes the film in a dialogue, " You think it's us versus them and the mountain? It is always us versus the mountain and the mountain has the final say!"

Every aspect of this film is reaching and beautiful, also painfully disturbing. The mind-blowing cinematography and the gorgeous effects of the film make you feel the chills back on your seat in the cinema hall. There are dialogues, and moments with varied connotations and layers of emotions and equations that subtly glide past through the film. There are sky-high dreams, shattering hopes, storms that challenge your belief and love that's heartbreakingly beautiful.

The ones who strive hard best understand the sweet taste of victory, but not all who succeed survive, in glory.

What glorifies Everest is the complimenting performance by the actors and the team put together. Perhaps not everything you see will make an impact, but there'll be moments and many of such moments where you'll sit at the edge of your seat with your heart in your mouth... unsure what's in store.

Everest may not be the best film in its genre, but it's definitely worth a watch in a high quality cinema hall. Don't miss it for anything! You'll never feel more scared to fail your dreams and passions; also you'll love them more than you ever can.
