Verdict

“If I Stay is so melodramatic, sappy and corny that the target audience (teenage girls) might find it too much to bear. Skip it unless you have an unusually high tolerance for mushy teen dramas. ”

So I'll admit, I went in with decent expectiations because I think Chloe Grace is a Kick-Ass actor (see what i did there). But when I walked out, I was confused as to what they were trying to do & why it was such a half-baked attempt.

Pros:

1. Chloe Grace, whos on the money

2. Few sweet moments between her & Jamie

3. Well shot

Cons:

1. Absolutely disjointed plot

2. Poorly written screenplay

3. At the end of it, you ask yourself the point of the whole exercise.

4. A comatose patient who is actually deciding what to do with herself. I'm all for vivid imginations but not in a romantic drama thats supposed to be serious. Its a ridiculous plot arc.

5. A poor climax.

At the end of it, if you like Chloe, soppy romantic dramas which might not necessarily

be any good then go for it. Otherwise its absolutely pointless to go anywhere near this one. Major disappointment.
