The heat in Goa, where I am right now is killing. So, when the poster of one of my favorite animated movie of recent times promises twice the awesomeness I get excited & nervous at the same time. Excited because if you enjoyed the 1st installment you know what mad fun is in store. Nervous because it is a sequel and maybe the awesomeness doesnt turn out as promised. But as I walked out of the theatre the killing sun was down and my happyness level was up,up,up

This time the makers make a villain out of a peacock (Lord Shen voiced by Gary Oldmnan). Peacocks are birds that we would least expect to be a villain but here it is evil personified. The plot is pure Hindi film. Lord Shen is a bad peacock in the family. He wants to rule china & he is connected to Po's childhood. So, Po has to save China and has to find out the reason for his nightmares which is like what Amitabh had about the horse bracelet in Zanjeer, po also dreams of a symbol. I told you its a Hindi film.

The best part about the film is that the fun doesnt stop. Like the first one Jack Black overshadows all the other characters. Master Shifu has nothing much to do in this one and the others are also are kind of sidelined by Jack Black & Gary Oldman. I am hoping the 3rd one exploits the other characters too. Whats the point of having them in the film if you use them as junior artistes? Since the writers & the director is the same the humor stays intact and the focus is to make it an entertaining fun ride. Thank god I saw the film in 2D. I am assuming the 3D experience will be bad so be warned.

Final few words: Kung Fu Panda 2 is pure happiness for you and your entire family. Time to add one more action figure to the list. Lord Shen.
