We've all seen the pictures and the clips of the crazy airplane stunt performed by Tom Cruise. It wouldn't be too far fetched for anyone to think that clip is probably from a scene at the end of the movie. Nope. It's the very first scene. A statement of intent by the movie to let the audience know they're in for a ride the trailers have not prepared them for. At all. Rogue Nation is Mission Impossible at it's very best. And yes, maska are still involved.

Ethan Hunt has been busy. He's been hunting down clues about a mysterious, shadow organization known as the Syndicate. Unbeknownst to him, however, the Syndicate has been keeping tabs on him for a long time. He is ambushed and his handler is killed. This results in the disbanding of the IMF, and a transfer of all their assets to the CIA. The CIA, doesn't believe in the existence of this so called syndicate, thus declaring Ethan a rogue agent. Ethan must now find the Syndicate's leader to prove his innocence with the help of an ex- British intelligence agent whose loyalties he can't seem to understand.

Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation is almost as good as the first installment in the series. Considering how acclaimed that one was, this is high praise indeed. There's not even a second of boredom in the movie, and the set pieces and chase scenes are absolutely sublime. The plot is only decent, but it's completely overshadowed by the blistering pace of the film. Rogue Nation is an easy recommendation to any fan of the action genre.
