Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Set piece to Set piece makes Percy a dull boy!

Let me admit, the first one didnt impress me at all. In the Lightening thief, excited kid Percy was off to save Olympus from the ruin & I was in no mood to venture out into round-2. But owing to my job, I did so & boy o boy, this was one borefest that NO ONE should watch!

I will keep this short. While our boy-hero is thinking that the war he saved in the first part was a stroke of luck, a new issue comes forth as the magical invisible wall protecting the Camp Half-Blood is comprimised.

Percy alongwith his friends Grover Underwood & Annabeth Chase & the half-brother thrown in for good measure, set out to the Sea of Monsters to get back the Golden Fleece (read: carpet) & along the way, meet an old foe who wants the same.

My biggest issue is the scale. It doesn't match up to the first one & that itself is a loss to me. The story is quite standard and isn't something to write home about.

The actors are also just about ok & Logan is dcent.

Thor Freudenthal disappoints as a director as he pulls down the (not so great) franchise.

Though I saw the film in the 3-D format, I really feel save some money & watch it in 2-D if you must. Ideally, I would let this one pass all together. Fans of fantasy films should just go buy a Harry potter Blu-Ray & it will leave you much more satisfied.
