Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich must have signed a pact when they got married that till the time they stay married they will keep on making resident evil movies.

So after the 2010 resident evil after life they are back again with the 5th film in the series.

For a person like me who tends to forget these kinds of films this one opens with a quick recap of what happened in the previous film.

Alice (Milla Jovovich) is held captive somewhere in Russia by the Umbrella Corporation. So the entire film is an escape film in which with the help of a team Alice has to get out of the base.

The film is designed like a game in which some simulated cities work as levels. Alice has to fight zombies, monster and members of the umbrella corporation to get out alive out of there. Some of the monsters look like they have walked out of the sets of Alien movies.

My problem with the film is that its good fun but you are always a distanced viewer. You never feel part of the thrill. The look on Milla Jovovich's face is that she will always get out of any situation. Then, why should you care or fear for her life.

All you have to do is put on the 3d glasses and enjoy the ride till it lasts

Word of mouth - resident evil retribution is recycled material.
