We should be feeling bad for disaster films but thanks to those VFX, we enjoy Disaster films more than other genres. When I saw the trailer for San Andreas, I recollected another superb film in the same genre - 2012. That film had so many elements compared to San Andreas, where there is only earthquakes. But that point + Dwayne Johnson made me interested in it. When finally I saw it, I was speechless. It's a VFX treat with a mediocre story.

It's about Ray (Dwayne Johnson) who's a rescue pilot, who embarks on a journey to save his daughter from the earthquake hit areas. Very simple concept but mind-blowing visual effects. San Andreas is one of those Hollywood Masala film where action is constantly happening & you're glued to your seats because it's that amazing.

Dwayne Johnson is as usual great. He has portrayed caring father & brave rescue pilot's roles perfectly. Alexandra Daddario is good as well, she is the eye-candy of this film. I won't be surprised if many people become Alexandra's fans because of San Andreas (And True Detective). Direction is superb. Acting is commendable by the cast. Story is mediocre but then I didn't go in expecting any story at all. There are certain story loopholes but just focus on the effects. Cinematography & visual effects are just brilliant. It couldn't overtake 2012 in terms of going huge but it tries & succeeds somewhat.

So what should you do? GO WATCH THE FILM OF COURSE!
