Seventh Son is a much delayed fantasy flick starring Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore. Its not a terrible movie by any means, but it rarely exceeds mediocrity. The plot is a generic tale of revenge, with all-too-predictable twists. Fans of the fantasy genre will find much to like here, but too little to love.

Tom Ward is farm hand in a small village who is apprenticed to the local spook, Master Gregory. His life falls into turmoil when Mother Malkin, an evil witch (Who used to date Gregory), tricks Ward into freeing her from her prison. Along with a growing army of evil sorcerers and witches, she is hell bent on destroying the established order of things. With ward seemingly being the last apprentice Gregory may ever have, the responsibility of dealing with Malkin now falls on his young shoulders.

Seventh Son is a decent, if uninspiring movie. The acting, cinematography and the soundtrack are all decent, but nothing more. This movies biggest crime is that it doesn't aspire to be anything beyond that. Only die hard fans of the fantasy genre need apply.
