“Something Borrowed delivers as much as you would walk in expecting for a rom-com; nothing more, nothing less. Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin are decent with the predictable script. Watch it if youre a fan of this genre, otherwise give it a skip.”
After a sequence of adventure movies, the romance is back on the screen with a promise. This weekend release Something Borrowed is one new movie to look forward to. After her cute role in Ramona and Beezus, Ginnifer Goodwin is back as Rachel in another romance flick. Posing as a talented attorney who works in a top-notch New York law firm is a loyal friend after work hours and a generous one on that. Poor Rachel is still single and on top of that she has an engaged best friend Darcy played by Kate Hudson. The constant pain of being single when the only best friend in your life is soon to get married sure feels terrible to the lady.
She has just turned 30 and suddenly comes face-to-face with her long time crush Dex played by Colin Egglesfield. The shocker is that he is now committed to Darcy and is getting married to her in short time. A frantic weekend with a weeding she dreads at the end of the tunnel, I am sure the lady is at loss of ideas on how to go about it. Caught dead between her long time only friend and the only crush, possible shot at love the lady is
As one thing leads to another in the frantic weeks leading up to Darcy's wedding, Rachel finds herself in an impossible situation, caught between her treasured friendship with Darcy and the love of her life. Along the painful road, Ethan or John Krasinski plays the helpful agony aunt role of Rachel who obviously has a crush of his won. Steve Howey plays the role of charming and yet out of control Marcus who though explores all the possible options with any woman he can lay his eyes on.
The movie is a mellow drama after a weekend with the Jack Sparrow himself. But sure is refreshing as the actors play the role in a comfortable way. Simple and no fuss, the movie screams of the issue all is fair in love and war. A good release and a nice one to watch if somebody gets time after watching Kung Fu Panda 2 and hangover series.
