“This cool bunch of vigilante Ninja Turtles manage to keep you just about hooked thanks to some witty one-liners and TMNT worthy action scenes. A decent watch if you don't mind the flimsy plot and love Megan Fox. ”
TMNT is a decent attempt at bringing this kinda forgotten franchise back to the limelight, and there's nobody better suited to do this task than Michael Bay. Say what you will about him, he understands his target audience perfectly. All of TMNT's major features are a reflection of that. Megan Fox : check. Explosions : check. Highly stylized action : check. This could have been a teenager's wet dream, but it falls just shy of that mark because of one thing : predictability. Many movies have obvious plot points and twists, but a good one manages to disguise them.
New York city is under siege by the notorious Foot clan. They seem to be able to carry out crimes at will with the police seemingly helpless in the face of this scourge. April O'Neil is an aspiring reporter trying to make it big. She's looking for her big story and she finds it thanks to these Mutant Turtles. This foursome (Rafael, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Donatello), led by their rat sensei (Splinter) beat up the foot clans goon's and foil their crimes repeatedly. This is playing havoc with their leaders (Shredder) goal to take over the city. So he decides to draw them out and kidnap them. April and Rafael now have to rescue them and save the city of New York.
While not a great movie, TMNT is more than entertaining enough to capture your attention for the duration of the movie. It's also helped by the fact that all the actors have put in a good shift. When it comes to TMNT, what you see is what you get. Don't look for any deeper meaning and take everything at face value to enjoy this movie.
