Remember Batman, and his fabulous Batmobile. Now forget Batman, and try to make a movie only about the vehicle. This is the only value proposition that 'The Green Hornet' has to offer. The hero is a dud with a sidekick who kicks ass better. Why he teams up with the dud is beyond comprehension - after all, the hero hogs the limelight, steals the girl and humiliates the sidey incessantly.

The entire idea of a debonair, suave publisher who becomes a masked vigilante by night has been turned upside down, as here Britt Reid/The Green Hornet (Seth Rogen) is unnecessarily stupid who basks in the glory of his valet Kato (Jay Chou who is suprisingly heroic, possesses superior reflexes and also creates the gadgets they use). Attempts at humour have been pathetic, including a irritating sequence where Reid, Kato and Lenore are all shouting at each other, towards the end. And oh, how can I forget Cameron Diaz as Lenore, who looks like an old geezer and seems to have gone through the role to pay some bills. Horror of horrors, they are even discussing how old she is in the movie :D.

The Hornet and his sidekick embark on numerous stupid adventures trying to 'look bad' but 'do good' by killing mafia dons and destroying storehouses. However, they are such buffoons that they end up destroying their own office, shooting each other and breaking the super-vehicle in half.

The only thing that shines in the movie is the said vehicle, as I have already mentioned before - 'The Black Beauty', as it is called tries to give it the edge that Rogen and Jay Chou lack. And perhaps the gas gun.

If you want Superhero + Stupid, watch Kickass. Superhero + spoilt rich dude, Ironman. Avoid this unless you are a big Seth Rogen fan, which I dont see why anybody would be.
