Who said masala films are made only in Bollywood? Losers is an out and out action masala movie. Infact I can totally see a certain Sun-jay Pugta ripping it off to make a stylish hindi movie with Fardeen Khan and Aftab Shivdasani.

The first scene of the movie sets the tone of the high voltage action and drama to follow. This one is full of revenge plots, people double crossing each other and betrayals. I am still talking about 'The Losers' and not Sholay.

A special Ops CIA team consisting of 5 very skilled men is betrayed and left high and dry with their identities destroyed. They figure out that the betrayal was done by some one on the inside who goes by the name of 'Max'. A woman by the name of Aisha spots them and leads them into organizing a revenge plot and helping them get back to their home soil in the process. The true identity of Aisha always remains mystifying and her personal gain in helping the team is a big sub plot in the movie.

The action doesnt cease at any moment. Each scene is filled with umpteen gun shots and grenade blasts. The VFX is not very impressive by hollywoods standards. Especially the VFX in the climax scene is a total drub. On the other hand the pace of the movie is very well dealt with and there is never a dull moment in the film.

Amongst the actors Jeffery Morgan was good and Zoe Saldana looks hotter in person than her 'Avatar'. But the one who stood out for me was Chris Evans who plays Jensen. Evans had also starred as Johhny Storm in the Fantastic Four and keeps his comic timing alive with this flick.

Direction by Sylvain White was appreciable. He kept the movie on a tight leash and did not let it wander off. I especially liked the pace at which the movie went. The script screenplay could have been a little innovative though.

Rating: Wait for ths one to come out on DVD or satellite channels.
