The Raid Redemption is a 2011 Indonesian movie that released in India last Friday. Dubbed in English with one of the worst translated script I have seen off late. my advice would be to not venture anywhere close to the theatres showing this but The movie is so awesome that it cant be missed watching on the big screen. Ignore the Indian dubbing artistes voices and the terrible translation and I promise you a mind numbing action film you have seen in a long time.

Whats it about? set entirely in a 30 floor building. A swat team has to take a crime lord out. What awaits them there is something they had never imagined.

My take the film can raise your blood pressure and give you a high thats very rare to get in the action film these days. Director Gareth Evans balances the hand to hand combat and the insane firing of guns with scenes that are edge of the seat filled with suspense and that what will happen now? feeling. He also manipulates you into investing in the lead actor by showing his pregnant wife right in the beginning. Using the Indonesian martial arts Silat it brings a fresh energy to hand to hand combat. Get ready to see Silat being used in a Hindi film soon. My favorite character in the film is Mad Dog. He doesnt like using weapon and likes to kill his victim through his fist. His fights are pasia vasool entertainment.

Word of mouth if blood, gore and bone crunching action is your thing go watch The Raid.
