“Director Steven Spielberg puts in all his expertise to make this film a technical masterpiece but the script proves to be a big letdown. Watch this only for Spielberg and to appreciate his beautiful work!”

Warhorse is a story that traces the life of a horse called Joey. Any movie with a horse promises to evoke a gamut of emotions in you from delight to pride to tears and this one is no different.

The movie shows us large parts of the World War and this is such an up close and personal depiction that it gives you goose bumps. It follows not just Joeys life but also of those who fought in the war and it makes you realize how a war can change a person into an animal and how much an animal becomes human in such conditions. But it also shows us that kindness and generosity are not defined by nationalities and boundaries but are inherent in the human race.

In spite of the lavishness of the production, somehow the movie still has an HBO feel. But I guess that is the pitfall with a subject matter like this. I suggest you see this movie with kids, 8 years and above. The war scenes may be a bit rough but they will identify with Albert and love Joey and learn a lot about spirit- human and animal.
