Ryan Reynolds is back in his R-rated avatar, as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool in the second installment of the 2016 blockbuster Deadpool. Well, he is at his best again, without hesitations, but the overall impact seems to be lost this time. David Leitch has managed to bring the comical and violent elements in balance but you tend to give up in between.
Plot treatment should have been more stable and gripping, than what it is, plus character development. Apart from Ryan Reynolds, another highlight of the film was Josh Brolin, playing Cable, who eventually got kind of left-out. He had some really powerful scenes which were also edited and what we got to see was a restricted performance. Because, what Josh Brolin did as Thanos, is no surprise to anyone.
Other actors being cast also seem to be irrelevant-Domino is an exception, played by Zazie Beetz. But X-Force characters are totally wasted-what a shame! They are so powerful in comics and no justice is done to them in the film.
As far as action and VFX is concerned, its fantastic, and well executed by the director. But there are too of them.
Overall, you are left like a half-filled stomach, wanting more but the food is just not there, to satisfy your appetite. less

Debutant director Ari Aster’s Hereditary is an unsettling horror-drama epic in the last 3 decades. And he proves by every single frame of this scariest movie of 2018! There is never a moment when you are not shivering inside and think of something creepy going on in the background. The disturbance of the family in the story gets you by the very start.
This movie surely will end up being nominated for next year’s Oscars, in the best actress category, thanks to Toni Collette’s unforgettable performance of a mother who becomes so much out-of-her-senses, that you can feel it in yourself. Another debutant performer, child actor Milly Shapiro, has succeeded in frightening the hell out of you. Her eye movements, dead silent expressions just makes it more disturbing.
Supporting actors also shine in the plot and give a chilling showcase.
This movie is not made for everyone, because fear and horror is different for each person. Those who like jump scares, won’t be entertained much, but those who know what being afraid is, will definitely be coming out as numb after watching it. Hereditary is highly recommended for you if you have the heart to swallow its heights of unsettling you. less

Damián Szifron anthology black comedy film is the film, that good cinema lovers will never leave it. Based on a theme i.e violence and vengeance the film is entertaining along with thought provocative.



Wild tales comprises of six short films with different plot but connected through same theme. East story has a different plot but the ultimate goal is the same.



There are several characters ranging from young to old, rich to poor, etc. There is hatered, stranger fight, corruption, marriage etc.



Its a must watch film and a different style of presentation. less

Chris - an African- american man- decides to take a weekend drive down to meet his girl's parents. It's all roses and lilies at first until Chris begins to notice strange things about the family. He tries to pass them off as nothing but probably his nervousness.

Rose Armitage the girlfriend, apologizes to him after his first encounter with her parents where her father makes attempts at jokes and the situation becomes really awkward. The whole story seems simple and fine. White family not very open to their daughter dating a Black guy. But just when you think you got it figured out, there is so much more to the story. Chris has a bad smoking habit. Rose's mother offers to help him quit by using hypnosis. Chris politely refuses. During the tour of the house by Mr. Armitage, Chris observes that their Help are black people. Mr. Armitage tells him they've been around for a long time and it is nothing to do with superiority or inferiority or any such matters. The Help acts weird around them. Chris also captures unusual behavior by the maid of the house on his camera.

Things get weirder still when such as
> he goes out for a smoke and wakes up next morning not wanting a cigarette.
>The maid confesses to plugging out his phone from the charger.
> A gathering of people takes place at the residence where a woman is accompanied by a black man. Intrigued, Chris goes up and extends his hand for a fist bump. The man instead stretches his hand for a handshake. Later Chris takes out his phone and snaps a picture of the gentleman because he recognizes him from somewhere. When he does so, the flash catches the eyes of the gentleman and the crowd is stunned. The gentleman starts yelling at Chris to "get out" and shoves him away. Chris gets defensive and the man is taken away.
Chris sends the picture to his buddy back home named Rod Williams who is a TSA agent. On doing some research, some shocking findings turn up.

Overall this movie was perfect for me. It was interesting, thrilling, perfect amount of suspense and action. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I wouldn't say this is a family movie. But a great flick during sleepovers, when you are alone, with your date or just hanging with friends. This movie brings to life issues and abnormal thinking of the society that probably still exists.

I haven't watched movies in which these cast members have acted previously, but this movie won my heart. The script, screenplay, dialogues are great but what makes it better are the actors. They are intense and mysterious. Not even a tad bit of overacting anywhere.

Would I watch this again? Absolutely! less

Beyond the boundries of apperience and fatal attractions there lies a world that is innocent, quiet and peacefull, Guillermo del Toro's "Shape Of Water" is the great example of this.



The film is about a mute lonely women who falls in love with captured humanoid creature.



Film derives the reference from toro's 2006 movie "Pan's Labyrinth" but whats differenciates this film is in the treatment. The following gives a wibe of classic hollwlywood films where there are sharp images, plot lines, production design and music.



Plot has a new take on fairy tale, direction is chrisp , production design is pleasing towards eyes, cinematography is great, musical score is classic and performances are fine.



Even with so plus points film might not be everyones cup of tea as it has adult content and bold subjects. It deals with innocence, love, hatred, homosexuality and revenge



In a nutshell the film is refreshing and unique which should be watched not as entertainment but as piece of art. less

The Girl On The Train' is a 2016 American mystery thriller movie directed by Tate Taylor and written by Erin Cressida Wilson. It is the adaptation of Paula Hawkin's novel 'The Girl On The Train'.
The movie reveals how an alcoholic divorcee Rachel Watson gets implicated in the investigation of missing Megan Hipwell.
Her character is cleverly played by Emily Blunt. She has portrayed the character well by incorporating all small details like the pale face with dark circles, quivering roughened lips and shivering hands in the urge of alcohol.
If I hadn't read the book, exclusively the movie did pretty well. It's quite enthralling and made the audience assume a lot. It didn't reach my expectations but surely made me question whats happening.
The film is directed in such a way that it changes the point of view from Rachel to Megan to Anna and then back to Rachel which I personally liked. There are leaps shown like 2 months ago, 6 months ago to give the audience a sense of time.

Although the film fails to give the thriller experience that the book offers, the actors performing the characters have given enough justice to their roles. As the movie reaches its climax, everything is almost predictable.
Also, the changes directed in the movie from the book has dwindled its impact and disappointed the readers as well as the audience. Particularly changing the location of London to New York gave the movie a fascinating look.
In all its a one time watch. The audience might like the movie if they didn't read the book. But honestly, the movie isn't scripted well. You will positively want something more to happen.

Ron Howard's movie based on Dan Brown's international bestseller thriller book, 'Angels and Demons' glided high with its release. I eagerly waited for its release after reading the book. It considerably stood to my expectations. The main protagonist Mr Robert Langdon, a symbologist played by Tom Hanks tries to save the Vatican City from the stolen nuclear bomb explosion with the help of Victoria, a scientist played by Ayelet Zurer, solving the clues left by the murderer (Illuminati) on the skin of the assassinated Catholic priests.
He comes across the conspiracies involving the Catholic Church, blistering the faith in God and Science. While this film was better than it's previous Langdon series - Da Vinci Code, nevertheless it does have its pros and cons.
It was difficult to imagine Tom Hanks portray the role of Mr Langdon still he impressed me by getting comfortable in the character compared to the Da Vinci Code. It is a simplified version of the book which made me stick to the edge of my seat getting. If I hadn't read the book it was the just a mind-blowing film. It would have been better with the exact background described in the novel but Tom Hanks tried to give his best, I can say.
People who read the novel were honestly disappointed and I am one of them. There were many important scenes in the book which was side-lined. The most important character Maximillian Kohler, the director of CERN was not in the screenplay. The relationship between the Pope and the camerlengo which amplifies the story was not explained which absolutely let me down. The charming relationship between Langdon and Victoria was craved. So, it didn't entirely hold on to my expectations. According to me, the filmmakers didn't trust the storyline of the novel to work.
A time mystery prime film but with blemishes. less

The third installment in the modern trilogy of the Planet of the Apes series sure manages to bring the whole series to a spectacular closure. As with the franchise, this movie also had phenomenal CGI and acting. The script however felt a bit weak compared to its predecessors.

The movie revolves around the new mutated virus that is affecting the humans. The bond between humans seems to get weaker whereas the apes are getting smarter. There is a good amount of interaction between both the species during the second half of the movie which pans out to be very interesting.

The introduction of the new characters makes the movie feels fresh and easy on the eyes, compared to the second installment. The ability to use very little or no dialogues at all in some of the most important scenes and have them turn out so beautifully really shows why the whole series was a hit to begin with.

Atlast, the movie really managed to portray what was the most important and did it in such a fashion that it had us rooting for the apes and against our own species.

Yet another great piece of work by the Action beast Tom cruise! The mission impossible franchise has earned its appreciation in the past and the latest installment serves well yet again. Mind blowing plot, performance and Action scenes in the movie makes it the best entry in the franchise. We come across the robust character of Ethan Hunt, who despite being betrayed and disavowed by his own nation has completely dedicated himself to the protection of not only his country but the entire world. We come across the most fabulous cast of this movie, the IMF team, including Ethan(Tom Cruise), Benjamin Dunn(Simon Pegg), Luther(Ving Rhames) and Ilsa Faust(Rebecca Ferguson). All these people have delivered there performance in a really spicy and mind blowing way. Talking about the action scenes, this is where these action freak cast will make you skip a heartbeat in the movie. There is so much of enthusiasm and thrill in this movie, making the viewer immerse himself entirely in the film. Most of the action scenes in the movie have been performed in real life by Tom Cruise himself, despite of getting severely injured he didn't fail to impress his fan audience. The action scenes in the movie look a lot like real stunts which gives some brownie points to the movie. Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) is back in an extremely new and beast look, he plays his role of an evil whose motive is to destroy people to make peace in the world. He absolutely nails his role. Rebecca performs Ilsa's role quite well as part of the British Intelligence and charms her audience. Luther(Ving Rhames) and Hunley(Alec Baldwin) blend with their role yet again and do not fail to impress the audience. The new entries in the film August Walker(Henry Cavill) and Angela Basett have done a great job, especially the duo Walker and Tom Cruise give a spicy performance and entertain the audience. The Superman here has done a Superb acting of playing a deadly assassin. We also see a little bit of spice about the return of Ethan's wife Julia(Michelle Monaghan), although there is not much about her presence in the movie. The funny conversations between Ethan, Simon, Luther, keep the humour in place and deliver well to the audience. The music and the amazing mission impossible tune is very well implemented in the film that spikes makes you go crazy for this film. This is an absolutely mind-blowing film by Christopher McQuarrie who has made some amazing and heart winning movies in the past. The plot is a bit twisted and complicated leaving some portion of audience with doubts which is kind of a draw back. If you are Tom Cruise Fan and love watching spy movies then you will fall in love with this movie. So brace yourself and ready to watch the most impossible mission made possible here! Ready Player One is the latest addition to the list of gems of Hollywood by Steven Spielberg. The film showcases the future of humanity with evolution in tech all the while featuring a number of pop culture references from the previous century.

There is not a moment in the film when things feel repetitive or predictable or boring at all. The film meets the classic boy-gets-girl convention while simultaneously keeping the millennials entertained by Spielberg’s magic. The film manages to recreate the 90’s feel and taking us back to our childhoods and clustering it with the technology of the future.

While the film is absolute eye candy for nerds, geeks and video game lovers, it’s one of the reasons why it couldn’t make more at the Box Office. The genre of the movie had a very limited audience and the references seemed to go on forever with most of the audience not getting it, pointing to bad writing.

The CGI seemed to be the thing that kept it all from falling apart for the average viewer. It was the backbone of the whole movie. Had it not been for the spectacular CGI, the movie would have done much worse with its mediocre writing, script and acting.

In the end, what was expected to be the great return of Spielberg, got buried under the wholesome too-much-CGI feel of the movie.

The Rock is back again with another action-packed movie. It has a nice portrayal of the strength of the rock and an amazing computer graphics which makes the animals look so real. They got the smallest detail right like the breeze moving the hair of George, incredibly rare albino silverback gorilla who has a special connection with Dwayne Johnson, the troopers action and the city chaos.
Although the movie has a great director, stunts and acting it lacks a convincing story. After watching the movie, it seems like the movie completely relies upon the legacy of Dwane Johnson.
Moreover, the movie looks like it has some repeated scenes from the giant animal movies like Kong: Skull Island, King Kong, Godzilla which most of the audience have seen before thus killing the curiosity of the audience.
Overall, the movie is nice to watch and has a certain amount of amusement which is completed by the action of The Rock and a bit of humor which has good timing. less

The year of 2018 was meant to be the year with multiple movie sequels hitting the cinemas. While some sequels such as Avenger: Infinity Wars and Deadpool 2 left a brilliant imprint on the minds of the audience, making them one of the best movies of 2018, a few other sequels did not leave quite the same impression, thus failing to entertain the audience. One such movie that tanked this year was the third installment of the Hotel Transylvania series, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.

Revolving around our beloved Dracula, the movie is about Dracula's conquest to seek companionship post his wife's death and how he takes a trip with his family and beloved friends to The Lost City of Atlantis to fulfill that. The adventures that take place during the summer vacation, including Dracula's encounter with his arch nemesis Professor Abraham Van Helsing, incidents related to Captain Ericka and more define the plot of the movie.

While the movie had several funny bits, the film that was aimed to be a comic thriller failed to keep the audience engaged , as it was easy to decipher each and every scene of the movie. While we got to see a brand new side of Dracula, the movie unfortunately did not quite live up to the expectations that was set by the previous two movies of the series. Out of the 2.5 star rating, 1.5 goes to the wonderful animation of the movie, which is probably one of the saving graces of the movie.

Verdict: A one time watch, but don't keep too many expectations while watching the film. less
