Verdict - A little too meh!

Alice Through The Looking GlassWatch trailerRelease date : May 27, 2016

Alice and Wonderland gave us some fascinating characters thanks to Lewis Carroll's wonderful world. Now the story is back this time with Alice (Mia Wasikowska) setting herself up on a mission to save the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). Despite some fabulous actors in Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathway, the latter playing The White Queen, the movie itself leaves much to be desired. It follows the latest trend of movies laced with CGI without much story or character development. This time the pathetic excuse is that of Mad Hatter being in a spot of bother, leaving Alice to come up with a plan to restore sanity to Underland, deal with the wicked Red Queen and save Mad Hatter. In doing so, she has to use the toast of the town in terms of concept - travelling back in time - a gimmick every screenplay has been using off-late. The results are not so charming and there is not much flight in the imagination, just fanciness. The movie suffers from an incoherent story that never builds any sort of suspence and only bores you with its drabness. Having said that, it is visually captured well, allowing families and kids to enjoy it without being tortured too much. Still with X-Men in town, wonder if Alice will get too many backers!
