Verdict - Shout out to Marvel for successfully accomplishing this and making the dream come true for millions of geeks!

Avengers: Infinity WarWatch trailerRelease date : April 27, 2018

Since the last 10 years, Marvel Studios’ cinematic offerings have satiated the infinite hunger of the geek in us and no one in their wildest of fantasies would have thought that they will get to witness a spectacle like Infinity War. Marvel has come out with all guns blazing, firing on all cylinders as Infinity War assembles all the superheroes of its shared universe as they battle Thanos, the mad Titan in quest of the Infinity Stones.
Just like Voldemort in Harry Potter was in the quest for the Deathly Hallows to become immortal, Thanos wants to collect all the Infinity Stones so that he can become the most powerful being in the universe and can destroy half of its life in order to maintain balance. The Avengers have long disbanded since the events of Civil War, a few of them are facing difficulties in controlling their powers while a few of them have gone into hiding.
The film throws the viewers straight into action as we see Thanos collecting the Space Stone from Asgardians who were drifting in space after the events of Thor: Ragnarok. A lot of fan favorites were expected to die and Marvel has gone into full Walking Dead mode as no character is safe. Very soon Dr. Strange in Earth learns about the imminent threat and after butting heads with Iron Man decides to stop Thanos away from earth with a little bit help from Spider-Man.
Meanwhile, Thor is found by the Guardians of the Galaxy and they also hatch a plan to stop Thanos while Captain America and other Avengers head to Wakanda to protect Vision who has the Mind Stone. Directors Joe & Anthony Russo had a huge responsibility on their shoulders after Age of Ultron received mixed reviews and how they would manage a galaxy of stars in Infinity War. It’s safe to say that they have delivered a film which will satisfy the geeks and casual moviegoers as well.
The film has some great set pieces and almost every superhero gets a chance to shine. The banter between the cast is probably the highlight of the film as the actors seem to have mastered the art of quipping and delivering sharp one-liners. The humor quotient is maintained throughout and Thor, Iron Man, Dr. Strange, Rocket Raccoon, Bruce Banner and Star-Lord get the best of lines. Infinity War is also a set up for its sequel to be released next year and we will get to see more Avengers joining the team.
Josh Brolin as Thanos gets a considerable amount of screen time and the writers have given his character an engaging backstory. We get to know what exactly motivates him and the sacrifices he is ready to make will probably shock you. Zoe Saldana’s Gamora also shines and her performance lies amongst Marvel’s finest performances ever. Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man is again at the front and the center and his chemistry with everyone is perfect while Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange also plays his part well.
Mark Ruffalo has made the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk totally his own and he delivers an understated performance. But the real MVP here is Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. Russo brothers had promised that Thor will get a considerable screen time and will be a key player in the fight against Thanos and Chris Hemsworth rises through the ranks to emerge a true hero. The kid inside you will be screaming with Joy at Thor’s set pieces.
Though, the film does have a few glitches as well. Hawkeye and Ant-Man, two of our favorite heroes are missing from the action and Thanos’ hunger to get the Infinity Stones even while knowing the consequences of his actions make you somewhat question whether the writers should have thrown some light on this. Also, the disposable CGI army at the end of the film was highly predictable. Russo brothers showed in Civil War (which was a mini-Avengers) that they are the perfect choice to handle an assembly of superheroes and expectations will be sky high for the sequel which will release next year.
