I never thought I would be saying this, but Burlesque looked like a rip-off of Fashion. It was as Bollywood as Hollywood could get. It had the drama, music, missed love connections/triangles, betrayal, rona-dhona, etc etc!

The story was predictable, so let me give you a gist of it, and I'm sure you will be able to figure out the rest on your own. Small town girl, Ali, played by Christina Aguilera, moves to LA with big dreams of performing at a burlesque club. The club is run by Tess (Cher). Ali starts off as a waitress at the club, but pushes Tess to believe that she has what it takes to be up on stage. Cher loves her spirit and agrees to put her on stage and from there on, you can imagine what happens. The head bartender who Ali is living with, falls in love with her but so does the rich man who wants to buy out the club. It's pretty obvious who she picks. She also makes some enemies along the way who's spotlight she has taken over, and it was quite apparent how that would play out as well.

The music in the film is the plus point (except for the one sappy song Cher sings). The outfits are also great! The only non Bollywood like thing in the film.

Overall, it is worth a one time watch, but with movies like 127 Hours and Dil to Baccha Hai Ji, I would suggest you give it a miss this weekend.
