Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty GaloreRelease date : August 20, 2010

If Animals could Talk!! These were the first few words that sneaked into my maverick-brain once I stepped-in to watch "Cats And Dogs" (C&D;). Though our Bolly-nagri is alien to this, but Hollywood has successfully pioneered this genre and latest venture on the same terrain is "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore".

With this flick, director Brad Peyton twisted with the usual confrontational relation between canine and feline species. As the title suggest, it's about a revenge of a kitten not only against Dogs, but also against Human and her own kins i.e. Cats. In order to save Mankind, mutual nemesis work together against the psychotic cat.

The crux of the story sounds interesting but the execution has many loopholes. One would feel that there was more scope of special-effects than it was actually showcased. The garnished special effects' buffet was neither breath-taking nor awe-inspiring. I am still wondering why the movie was made in 3-D version, in any case. Obviously, the target audiences of the movie are our kids; that makes the physical and situational humor of paramount importance. Sadly, Humor Quotient is missing in this tepid tale of our beloved pets. Technology or No-Technology, the Dogs have always been in the thick of the things, when it comes to Action Sequences. The latest C&D; version could not boast of even a single stunt sequence that might etch in your memory, once the curtains are down.

Maverick Verdict: I commenced my review with an innocuous little thought. Along with that, I also pondered over few other possibilities that could be explored with tweeting-n-mumbling pets. Alas, C&D; has left me craving for more. Even if I step into kids itsy-bitsy shoes, Cats and Dogs is a big let-down.
