Verdict - This bull is worth a visit !

    FerdinandRelease date : December 15, 2017

There are movies which appear kind of unannounced. The limelight usually goes to the more celebrated ones that are released besides them - in this case the starwars episode8. However Ferdinand is a much better value for money cinema from Hollywood this weekend.

Story of a peace loving bull, who refuses to be either a "fighter or meat" and in the process ends up redeeming his other fellow mates in a bull farm.

Ferdinand is a good story, it is neither a tale of justice like a Lion King nor a saga of father son bonding like Finding Nemo. But it has a simple story of do what you find happiness in and it the director delivers the message with sincerity.

Ferdinand has some very well done fun scenes too, like Ferdinand trying to sneak out of a glass and crockery shop, the last minute escape and chase in the climax of Ferdinand and his mates. Not to forget the scene where Ferdinand rescues two of his friends from the slaughter house.

Ferdinand surely could have been better but then may be the director has deliberately kept humans out of importance in this story, including the girl who loves Ferdinand and takes care of him because he wanted us to see the story from the Bull's perspective.

Ferdinand for sure has some very well written emotionals drama scenes too, like the one where he discovers that all Bulls are chasing a mirage of a non-existent victory. The bull fights are just another chop shop.

Ferdinand is not a 50 movies to see before you die movie, however it is far more value for money written over it than the combined offerings from Bollywood and Hollywood in the last two weeks.

This is good old feel good cinema delivered with a touch of simplicity.
