Verdict - All style, little substance but still worth a watch.

    X-Men: ApocalypseWatch trailerRelease date : May 20, 2016

The success and quality of the first two X-Men movies meant that there were high expectations from Apocalypse. With the massive success of Deadpool and Captain America right before it, One can't help but feel sorry for the task ahead of this movie. Unfortunately, X-Men Apocalypse isn't as amazing as the recently launched Marvel movies were, but it still has a lot to offer. It's extremely entertaining, just not a movie that would stick with you after you've left the hall.

The end is upon us, again. Apocalypse, the most ancient of all mutants, a near godlike power unto itself has awoken. He's most displeased at the turn humanity's evolution has taken and decides to start afresh. He unleashes the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to bring about the planet's doom. Meanwhile, Charles Xavier is running out of time to save the world from this baddie and must mend burnt bridges and gather new allies to be able to beat him.

X men Apocalypse is definitely worth one watch, especially for fans of the series. It doesn't match the lofty standards set by the first two X Men films, but it's slick action and visuals do warrant some appreciation. The plot is a bit corny at times, but if there's one genre that can get away with this, its comic book adaptations. The new entrants to the X Men universe are pretty damn good, as are the old returnees, with the exception of Jennifer Lawrence, who doesn't make for a great Mystique. This almost mindless movie is worth a watch, so long as you don't expect the world from it.
