BTS' Jimin
Supposedly on hiatus due to mandatory military service, neither global superstars BTS nor their fans ARMY can stay apart for long! While continuing his service to the country, Jimin, through his agency BigHit Music, has announced the upcoming release of his second solo album titled 'MUSE', scheduled for July 19.
After launching their own Instagram channel 'Only ARMY', the agency announced a new project which will feature the previously released single 'Closer Than This', dropped in December 2023. Jimin, with blond hair, released a cryptic trailer with the caption "COMING SOON," revealing him in a locker room surrounded by purple lockers. The video sparked curiosity as Jimin picked up a letter titled 'La Lettra', bearing the intriguing message "You will always find the first letter" accompanied by musical notes.
Immediately following the teaser's release, fans quickly noticed a nostalgic reference to BTS' vocal line track "The Truth Untold" from their "Love Yourself" album. Specifically, in the teaser, the musical notes on the letter Jimin holds closely resemble those used in "The Truth Untold." Shortly after the news spread, ARMY took to social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), to celebrate and trend 'Jimin is Coming'.
About 'MUSE':
The album is set to release less than a year and a half after the 28-year-old singer's debut solo album 'FACE', which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
"Following his first solo album, 'FACE', where he explored his true identity, 'MUSE' documents his journey in search of inspiration," reads BigHit Music's post on Weverse.
Jimin's career:
The singer officially debuted solo in 2018 with the single "Promise". Five years later, he became the first South Korean soloist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Like Crazy", while FACE's "Set Me Free, Pt. 2" also peaked at No. 30 on the chart.
Jimin, along with bandmates V, Jung Kook, and RM, started military service in December 2023, expected to be released in 2025. Jin recently completed his service just a day before the group's 11th anniversary, while the others are fulfilling their duties.
