Jr NTR and Ram Charan on the sets of RRR
Telugu superstar Jr NTR unveiled the much-anticipated trailer for Devara: Part 1 at a grand event in Mumbai, where he spoke candidly about his pre-release jitters and the pressure of shouldering the film alone. After the massive global success of RRR, where he co-starred with Ram Charan under SS Rajamouli’s direction, Devara marks his first solo release in six years, adding to the intensity of the moment for the actor.
"I am very nervous," he admitted at the event. "After RRR, this is my next film. I did RRR with my co-star Ram Charan, but this is my solo release after six years. There’s a lot of nervousness." NTR's confession underscores the weight of following up on a global hit like RRR.

NTR’s last solo release was the 2018 action drama Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. Although Devara went into production soon after the release of RRR, delays pushed the release. The overwhelming international reception of RRR—especially after its Netflix debut—required NTR, Charan, and Rajamouli to spend considerable time promoting the film in the US, putting their other projects on hold. However, their efforts paid off with RRR creating history by winning the Oscars for the "Naatu Naatu" song.

Jr NTR also expressed his gratitude for the reception of South Indian films in North India. “The experience we had while promoting RRR in Mumbai was surreal. The acceptance of us in the North has shocked us all,” he said, hoping that Devara would be similarly embraced.
The trailer teases a visually stunning, action-packed story about a ruthless tribe of pirates terrorizing innocent lives, with NTR’s character, Devara, determined to stop them. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 is set for release on September 27.
Devara stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, and Saif Ali Khan as the main antagonist. This film marks the Telugu cinema debut for both actors.
