    Rani Mukherji and Saif Ali Khan starrer Hum Tum is a Bollywood romantic comedy which is rather hard to forget. The film which was a big hit with audiences featured a love story between Saif and Rani’s characters over a period of time and how they turned friends from foes to eventually becoming more.

    The movie which managed to entice fans with not just a great narrative and performance but the Hum Tum cartoon as well which became all the rage. Saif went on to win The Nation Film Award for his performance in the movie but despite the fantastic role, the project was turned down by multiple Bollywood A-listers.

    According to IMDb, Bollywood’s king of romance, Shah Rukh Khan was initially considered to play Saif’s role in the movie but never approached by the makers. Even after dropping the idea of casting Shah Rukh, the makers didn’t immediately take the project to Saif though.

    Actor Vivek Oberoi has admitted that he had to turn down the film back in the day due to issues with dates. The film is one of the many films rejected by him that turned out to be box office hits.

    The Kunal Kohli directed movie was also reportedly turned down by Aamir Khan , Hrithik Roshan , and Salman Khan and eventually landed in Saif’s lap.

    Hum Tum pleased the audience with its music, story, characters, cameos and more and Saif and Rani’s chemistry. The movie also featured Dimple Kapadia, Rishi Kapoor , Abhishek Bachchan and Kirron Kher and key roles.

    Hum Tum has completed 18 years since its release in cinemas today.
