'A star is born, a masterpiece': Kartik Aryan surprises Twitterati with his solid performance as dentist Freddy Ginwala

Kartik Aaryan ’s second OTT release Freddy finally released on Disney+ Hotstar today i,e December 2. After Dhamaka, the actor yet again took up an intense role, this time as a dentist, and left Twitterati impressed. Touted to be an edge-of-seat-thriller, the film stars Alaya F as the female lead.

Twitter is flooded with positive reviews both from critics as well as audiences. The viewers called the movie a ‘masterpiece’ and lauded Kartik’s performance saying the 'star is born'. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Freddy revolves around dentist Dr. Freddy Ginwala, a shy, and socially awkward dentist who plays with his miniature planes in his leisure time. He has one and only friend, his pet turtle ‘Hardy’. The story is filled with unusual twists and dark mysteries which will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. Talking about his character, Kartik was quoted as saying, “It is undoubtedly the most complex character I’ve ever played. Freddy is not a linear simple character, he is layered, he is unpredictable.”

Kartik made his OTT debut with Dhamaka where he played the role of a TV journalist. Written and directed by Ram Madhvani, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur. The actor garnered praise for his performance and it also fared well commercially. Up next, the actor is geared for his upcoming movies, Shehzada co-starring Kriti Sanon, Satyprem Ki Katha with Kiara Advani, and an untitled movie with Kabir Khan.
