Aamir Khan falls prey to the Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha trend, his film records lowest IMDB rating of his career below Mela & Dhoom 3

It seems that Aamir Khan ’s ambitious Forrest Gump adaptation in the form of his latest offering Laal Singh Chaddha has not only disappointed the cash registers but has apparently failed to receive critical acclaim too. Yes, you heard it right! The movie hasn’t struck a chord with the critics and masses, and as a result of which it has garnered the lowest IMDB rating of Aamir’s film career. The film currently has a rating even lower than the superstar’s earlier box office duds like Mela, Thugs Of Hindostan, and Dhoom 3.

Talking about the same, Laal Singh Chaddha’s IMDB rating is a mere 3.5 on the basis of 12,000 votes. As a result, the film has turned out to be Aamir Khan’s lowest-rated film of all time. The actor’s earlier box office flops like Mela (2000) have a rating of 3.6, Thugs Of Hindostan (2018) have a rating of 4 and Dhoom 3 (2013) have a rating of 5.3. However, there might be a silver lining to this since the IMDB ratings are not a constant ratio and often keeps on fluctuating. So, Laal Singh Chaddha might see an improvement in its ratings with an increase in votes.

Meanwhile, it is a thing to wonder whether Aamir Khan’s film fell prey to the extensive boycott trend against it. For the unversed, ‘Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha’ was trending massively on Twitter before the movie’s release wherein some netizens were calling out to cancel the film owing to some controversial comments made by Aamir in the past which they alleged were anti-government and made with bad taste to the country. Netizens also started boycotting the movie due to the female lead Kareena Kapoor Khan ’s earlier comment wherein she had asked people not to go to watch their films if they don’t want to amidst the nepotism debate that had not gone down well with people.
