    Last year, Deepika Padukone made India proud as one of the jury members at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. And this year, Anushka Sharma is all set to make her debut on the red carpet. Not only this but she is also reported to honour women in cinema along with Hollywood actress Kate Winslet. The prestigious film festival is scheduled to take place from 16 May to 27 May.

    Anushka is one of the most successful Bollywood actresses of her time. She has quite an impressive filmography which includes hit movies like Band Baaja Baraat, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, PK!, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Sultan and Ae Dil Hain Mushkil among others. Besides acting, she is also India’s youngest producer as she backed NH10 at the age of 25. She has contributed to changing the representation of women in Indian cinema and also worked tirelessly to upskill people and aid the needy through her non-profit organisations.

    The Harry Met Sejal actress was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. After almost four years of hiatus, she will be making her comeback with a biopic, Chakda Express. The film is inspired by the life and times of women cricket’s all-time greatest fast bowler cricketer Jhulan Goswami. Besides this, it is being reported that she has teamed up with Samantha Ruth Prabhu for a women-centric film backed by her brother Karnesh Ssharma.However, there is no official confirmation made on the same.

    Meanwhile, besides Anushka’s debut at Cannes 2023, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy is also headed for its premiere at the prestigious film festival this year. The film will be showcased under the Midnight Screenings section, Film distributor Iris Knobloch and Cannes’director Thierry Fremaux made the announcement recently.
