After severe criticism, Prabhas' Adipurush to have its release date postponed? Here is when it might get released

It seems that the troubled phase for Adipurush is not done yet. After receiving a severe backlash for its teaser, the makers are now contemplating pushing the movie’s release date. Reportedly, the film might not get released on its original date which was January 12.

Talking about the same, a news report in Track Tollywood, apart from the many negative responses to Adipurush’s teaser, the makers are now also facing stiff competition from the other big South releases during that bracket. This includes two equally anticipated releases Waltair Veeraya starring superstar Chiranjeevi and Veera Simha Reddy frontline by NBK. Apart from this, the Prabhas starrer will also have a face-off with Tamil films like Vijay starrer Varisu and Ajith’s headlined Thunivu.

The report further added that the makers of Adipurush are left with two options amidst this dilemma. The makers of the Prabhas starrer can either prepone the release date to January 6 or push it to the summer of 2023 like February or March. However, the report also added that the early January bracket is not a very ideal time for a film release especially when not many people might step out to go into the theatres.

The movie might also get fewer screens which might affect its box office performance. However, speculations are also rife that this hesitancy might also be due to the very negative response to Adipurush’s teaser. The VFX and the execution of the movie were criticized so much by the masses that some even wanted the makers to scrap the movie or redo it entirely. We wonder if the makers are contemplating this.

Well, now we just have to wait and see what new release date the makers decide. The movie is based on the glorious story of Lord Rama. It has been directed by Om Raut and also stars Saif Ali Khan , Kriti Sanon , and Sunny Singh in the lead roles.
