Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Cinderella to be developed into a thriller series?

Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Cinderalla have been in the buzz right since its inception. The project was speculated to see a direct OTT release and now the latest development suggests that it might be developed for an OTT release for Disney + Hotstar . If this turns out to be true, the project will mark Akshay’s debut in the digital sphere and might be delightful news for his fans.

Talking about the same, a source close to the development revealed to Pinkvilla’s Himesh Mankad saying, “The story beautifully lends itself to the episodic format of filmmaking, and hence, the entire team is currently trying to tweak the edit to make it a limited episode OTT series. If need be, they are ready to shoot some of the portions again to keep the episode on a cliffhanger. Basically, the makers are looking to position it as Akshay Kumar’s digital debut in the episodic format.”

The source hinted that the final call regarding the format of the project will only be taken after viewing the impact of the episodic format of the same. The source added, “They don’t wish to dilute the impact of this story, which holds the viewer on the edge of their seat until the end. However, there is also a talk on how the longer format will give the director some more time to establish the psyche of his characters in a better way. It’s all in the early stages, but if everything materializes, Cinderella would make a debut as an OTT original series.”

The source furthermore stated that the release date of the project will only be decided after the producers make a decision about the format of the project. Talking about the same, it is touted to be a remake of the hit Tamil psychological-thriller film Ratsasan . Earlier, in a group media interaction, Rakul Preet Singh had made an interesting revelation that the project is not titled Cinderella. Well, one has to just wait and watch about any further development on the same.
