    Akshay Kumar is all geared up for his next Raksha Bandhan directed by Aanand L Rai. The actor says that with the movie, he gets to try something new since the industry has not made such kinds of films on brother-sister bond.

    Ever since the trailer of the film was released, great anticipation built up amongst the audience about Akshay’s role. In the Aanand directorial, Akshay plays Lala Kedarnath, the eldest and only brother of four sisters. He promises his frail mother on her deathbed that he will get married only after he fulfills the responsibility of marrying his sisters into suitable homes first. The film stars Bhumi Pednekar as Akshay’s love interest and Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth, Deepika Khanna, and Sahejmeen Kaur as the actor’s four reel sisters. The film also features Neeraj Sood, Seema Pahwa, and Abhilash Thapliyal in prominent roles.

    Talking about his role, Akshay said that he had a lot of fun playing the role in 'Raksha Bandhan'. His character belongs to a middle-class family embroiled in everyday middle-class problems trying to make ends meet and having the responsibility of getting his four sisters married. Elaborating on how his role is unique, he said that he has essayed many roles in his career but has not been part of a film that focuses on the special brother-sister bond. Calling it a relatable and universal subject, he said that such films are rarely made in Bollywood.
