Akshay Kumar shared one of his recent advertisements that he’s been a part of and called it special owing to the connection it shares with his late father-in-law Rajesh Khanna. Bollwyood’s first superstar whose film Bawarchi holds a cult status in Hindi cinema has inspired Akshay’s character in the ad where he can be seen playing a home cook.

Sharing the video Akshay wrote in a tweet remembering Rajesh Khanna, “Very rarely do we get a chance in life to play our hero on screen! Is #ad ko karte huye mujhe wohi khushi mili. Fondly remembering my late father-in-law whose iconic character in Bawarchi inspired me to do this.”

Akshay is married to the late superstar’s elder daughter Twinkle Khanna . The actor is seen playing bawarchi in the ad for a cooking oil brand where he comes home after buying groceries for the family and takes their special food orders, willing to serve all their demands with a smile.
