Akshay Kumar points to the 'not so surprising' rumour that he owns a private jet worth Rs. 260 crores, says, 'Liar, Liar…pants on fire!'

Akshay Kumar took to social media to bust a rumour that’s been going around about his exorbitant fee and lavish lifestyle. The actor after reading the details about his extravagance on a web portal, made it a point to clarify that it was all lies.

The actor clarified that he owns no private jet as the portal has reported and said that he wasn’t ‘in the mood to let people get by with such lies’. The portal claimed that Akshay allegedly owns a private jet worth Rs. 260 crores to which the Ram Setu actor responded by calling the piece of news a ‘pants on fire gem’.

In his tweet Akshay wrote, “Liar, Liar…pants on fire! Heard this in childhood? Well, some people have clearly not grown up, and I’m just not in a mood to let them get away with it. Write baseless lies about me, and I’ll call it out. Here, a Pants on Fire (POF) gem for you.”

Akshay was among the highest tax paying actors in in Bollywood in the last financial year and he also happened to be one of the most charitable ones. Keeping buys with back to back releases, he may be one of the busiest and highest paid stars of Bollywood at the moment but looks like he’s still far away from owing a private jet.

On the work front, Akshay has already seen four film releases this year including Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Rakshabandhan and Cuttputtli. His fifth film to release this year will be Ram Setu which will arrive in cinemas on Diwali. The star plays an archaeologist in the film who sets out to gather evidence to prove the existence of the Ram Setu between India and Sri Lanka. The movie also stars Nushratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez in key roles.
