Amitabh Bachchan cheers for Abhishek Bachchan as he gets honoured at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022: 'My pride my son'

    The 13th edition of the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne began on August 12 and will conclude on August 30. The award was announced yesterday in the presence of various dignitaries of the Victorian government in Melbourne.

    Amitabh Bachchan never misses a chance to heap praises on her son Abhishek Bachchan and his achievements. The megastar proudly cheered for him as he was honoured with the Leadership in Cinema Award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022(IFFM). Taking to his Twitter handle, Amitabh re-shared a tweet that has a picture of Abhishek holding the award. Alongside, he wrote, “my pride .. my son .. love you Bhaiyu ..” and also dropped heart emojis. Have a look:

    For the unversed, the 13th edition of the prestigious award ceremony began on August 12 and will conclude on August 30. The award was announced yesterday in the presence of various dignitaries of the Victorian government in Melbourne. Expressing his gratitude, Abhishek said, “I am extremely ecstatic being considered for this prestigious award by the Victorian Government and the film festival. Even though this award is not for the best actor, I am very much certain to come back to the festival soon enough for the best actor award too as I am certain I'll soon get it."

    Amitabh has always praised and promoted Abhishek on social media and his gesture was sometimes trolled. He was called out by netizens at the time of Abhishek’s Dasvi promotions. Shutting the troll, the megastar had earlier written, “Ji haan huzur, main karta hoon: badhayi, prachaar, mangalachar. Kya kar loge (Yes sir, I do: congratulations, promotions, invocations!!! What will you do?).”

    Meanwhile, Amitabh has returned to hosting the reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, with a brand new season. On the film front, he has several projects lined up that include Goodbye, Uunchai, Project K, and Brahmastra among others. On the other hand, Abhishek will next be seen in R Balki’s Ghoomer alongside Saiyami Kher, Shabana Azmi, and Angad Bedi. It is also being reported that Amitabh will also make a special appearance in the movie.
