Amitabh Bachchan’s words kept Zayed Khan away from films for 7 years; here’s what he was up to

Actor Zayed Khan began his journey as an actor in 2003 with the film Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. But it was with his second film Main Hoon Na that he rose to fame. He won hearts as Lakshman Prasad Sharma aka Lucky and his chemistry with on-screen brother Shah Rukh Khan was on point! Well, the actor has been away from movies since the last 7 years but is now all set to make his big Bollywood comeback. Back in May, he announced that his upcoming film is titled TFTNW.

But what kept him away from films for so long? Well, in a recent chat with Hindustan Times, Zayed finally answered the golden question. When his filmmaker friend Aseem Merchant had gone to his house to discuss a project, he had asked Zayed why he wasn’t doing films. The actor revealed, “I just said that I want to spend some time with my children. I read Amitabh Bachchan 's autobiography where he wrote about how he came back home from work and apparently Abhishek Bachchan couldn’t recognise him because he wasn’t home enough. It made me feel that it was real.”

Amitabh Bachchan’s words made Zayed realize that he needs to spend more time with his family, because if he’s not there for his children in their ‘foundation years’, what would it say about him. Talking about making a comeback, he shared, “Now that they are all grown up, I think its’ time for me to get back to business. Is it a good or bad move? I don’t know. I love films and my family. If I have to choose between them, I can only say you will have your kids for a lifetime and films will always be there. If you are with the right people, your film career will go up again.”

Zayed revealed that he has finished his film and discussions with various OTT platforms are on. Sadly, the project won’t release on the big screen. Nevertheless, the actor had a great time shooting it and we are sure it will be worth the wait for his many fans!
