The actor made her debut in 2019 with Karan Johar ’s Student Of The Year and worked in films Pati Patni Aur Woh , Khaali Peeli, and Gehraiyaan. In a recent interview with a well-known magazine, she spoke about her character choices, female role models, and many other things.

Talking about her last appearance on Gehraiyaan, Ananya told Cosmopolitan that there have been so many opinions about her performance hence she has decided to be completely blank before she begins working on her next film. On being asked if she is looking for more layered characters, she said that she wants to do honest characters more and search for honesty in the story and the message that the filmmakers are trying to say. Further, she talked about why it's crucial for young women to have female role models, “I truly believe that women need to support each other, because only we understand what each one of us goes through in life. As women, we have our own issues and problems which men may never understand, even if they try to” she told the magazine.

She added that all the working women are breaking the glass ceiling in their own ways and it encourages her to be surrounded by such women.
