Arshad Warsi on his ‘joker’ comment on Prabhas
During his appearance at the IIFA Awards 2024 green carpet on Saturday (September 28), Arshad responded to the backlash he received on his ‘joker’ remark. He added that Prabhas is a brilliant actor who has repeatedly proved himself. According to ANI, Arshad said, "Everybody has their own point of view and people like to interpret noise. I spoke about the character, not the person. He (Prabhas) is a brilliant actor and he has proved himself again and again, and we know about it. And, when we give a bad character to a good actor, it's heartbreaking for the audience."
What had Arshad Warsi said about Kalki 2898 AD?
In an interview with Unfiltered by Samdish in August, Arshad shared his thoughts about the Nag Ashwin film. He said, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata (What have you done, why do you do this I don’t understand)."
Many celebrities from the Telugu industry reacted to the comment negatively. Director Nag Ashwin even took to X and wrote, "Arshad saab (sir) should have chosen his words better… but it's ok… sending Buji toys for his kids… I will work hard so tweets… that Prabhas was the best ever in K2."
Helmed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD revolves around a dystopian world where Kalki is about to be born and rid people of their miseries.
