Besides being an actor par excellence, the veteran Boman Irani is a man of many hats and has been successful in almost every one of them. These days, Boman Irani is super excited and he has every reason to be so. His directed film The Mehta Boys is now all set to be released all over.
In an interview with India Today, Boman Irani spoke about The Mehta Boys. In the interview he spoke about the ongoing comparison between The Mehta Boys and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, since both of these films tread on the premise of father and son relationship. On his part, Boman Irani said, “I think it's the same medium; it's all about the director's vision. They chose a certain tonality and style—it’s their direction”.
When asked about the comparisons, Boman Irani said that they (both the films) were quite different. He added that, since he had not seen Animal, that’s why he could not comment on its theme. In the same breath, he added that their (his film) was about two people at a crossroads, dealing with a huge conflict and that it was about one boy becoming a man, while another was losing that.
He added that it was about realising that power can shift and that they were focusing on that nuance. He also added that, “Not every father-son film has to be similar or share the same themes. I don’t buy that. Good luck to the other filmmakers, but this is a completely different film”.
As for the film The Mehta Boys, it stars Boman Irani, Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry in the leading roles. While the film has been directed by Boman Irani, it has been written by Alexander Dinelaris and Boman Irani. The film has been produced by Boman Irani, Danesh Irani, Shujaat Saudagar, Vikesh Bhutani.
The film is all set to be released on Feb 7, 2025 on Prime Video India.
