Singer Shaan , who has left an indelible mark in our hearts with songs like Tanha Dil and Woh Pehli Baar suffered a major personal loss. His mother, Sonali Mukherjee passed away last night.

Shaan's mother, Sonali Mukherjee was also a singer. Shaan's father had passed away when the singer was just 13 years and it was his mother who then brought him up. In fact, she used to sing to earn her livelihood. Later, when Shaan turned 17, he took up singing as well and gained immense popularity.
