Dhaakad vs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Day 3 box office: Kartik Aaryan's film crosses Rs 50 crore mark, Kangana Ranaut's actioner collects around Rs 3 crore

Bollywood films, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dhaakad have released on the same day i.e May 20, however, Kartik Aaryan ’s horror-comedy proved a winner at the box office as it went to see immense growth during the weekend. On Sunday, the film collected around Rs 22-23 crore, thereby crossing the Rs 50 crore mark in just three days of its release. Whereas Kangana’s action thriller struggled hard to even do business close to Rs 1 crore.

Directed by Anees Bazmee , the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a standalone sequel to Priyadarshan’s 2007 film. Apart from Kartik, the horror-comedy also stars Kiara Advani , Tabu , and Rajpal Yadav . As per Box office India early, “ Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will record another fantastic day as a business on Sunday will be in the 22-23 crore nett range. It looked a higher number in the afternoon but as usual the bigger multiplexes slowed in the evening and night shows. The weekend business of the film will be in the 53.50 crore nett which means an excellent weekend and very good trend.”

On its very first day, Kartik’s film registered a Rs 14 crore collection at the box office, while on Saturday, it witnessed a 28 percent jump, earning 18 crore nett taking its two-day total to 31.50 crore nett. With the collection of Rs 23 crore on Sunday, the film has already become a hit. However, it is to be seen how the film will perform in the second weekend as Ayushmann Khurrana ’s Anek and Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick will next hit the screen.

On the other hand, it is disheartening to see Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad struggling to achieve numbers in its opening weekend. This big-budget movie was supposed to take an opening of around 5 crore, however, there was no start whatsoever on Friday, Saturday as well as Sunday. According to reports, the film collected Rs 2.25 crore in two days, while on the third day, it earned Rs 0.97 crores at the box office. So far, the total collection of the film is Rs 3.22 crores.

Besides Kangana, Dhaakad also features Arjun Rampal , Divya Dutta , Saswata Chatterjee, and Sharib Hashmi. It is directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai and produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai.
