Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has ventured into the world of showbiz by starting his chat show titled Dhawan Karenge. The first episode of the chat show dropped on JioCinema on May 20, featuring Bollywood star Akshay Kumar as its first guest. The fun chat show, which features guests from different walks of life, promises to send you on a laugh riot.
Dhawan Karenge first episode dropped
The makers of Dhawan Karenge took to their official Instagram handle to announce the release of the first episode. The caption said, “Shikhar Dhawan has stepped off the pitch and onto your screens! Dhawan Karenge’s first episode with none other than Akshay Kumar, streaming now on JioCinema Premium.”
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, the ace cricketer spoke about his equation with the actor and said that the two have known each other for five years and this will be reflected in the episode. He said, “People will love seeing a new side of him. We discussed our journeys and shared our philosophies. In fact, one of the games that we played on the show was one that he thought about on the spot.”
When Shikhar Dhawan stopped taking Akshay Kumar’s calls
In the promo of the first episode, Akshay Kumar said that Shikhar Dhawan promised to get him IPL tickets and stopped taking his calls after that. But he managed to get Akshay’s dates through his wife Twinkle Khanna. He said, “Bhabhi-bhabhi bol kar isne meri saari dates niklwa li!"
The promo of the show also revealed that celebrities such as Taapsee Pannu, Harbhajan Singh, Rishabh Pant and Bhuvan Bam will feature in the upcoming episodes.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming film Jolly LLB 3 with actor Arshad Warsi. He also has Welcome To The Jungle, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, and Suniel Shetty, among others, in the pipeline.
