Dhruv Vikram will collaborate with 'Karnan' director Mari Selvaraj next

    The movie will be the first time the director will be working with Dhruv.

    During the promotional event for his upcoming web series 'Vaazhai', director Mari Selvaraj revealed that he will be working with Dhruv Vikram for his next project.

    Dhruv Vikram's last movie was the 2022 crime-drama Mahaan, in which acted alongside his father Vikram, Dhruv's performance in the movie as Dadabhai Naoroji earned a lot of praise from critics and audiences.

    The actor made his film debut with 2019s Adithya Varma, the Tamil remake of the massively sucessfull Arjun Reddy.

    The yet-to-be-titled project with Mari Selvaraj will be the fourth movie in his career and Dhruv will be playing the role of a Kabaddi player

    As the director, Mari Selvaraj began his career in 2018 with Pariyerum Perumal, which was a massive critical and commercial success.

    His last movie was the 2021 action thriller Asuran which starred Dhanush in the lead alongside Rajisha Vijayan, marking the Malayalam actress Tamil debut.

    Karan was one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of 2021 and was critically well-received. Currently, along with the web series the director also has another movie 'Maamannan' which is in post-production.

    Maamannan is a political thriller starring Udhayanidhi Stalin in the lead and is a political thriller, the movie boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh, and Raveena Ravi.

    The movie will be the last acting role for Udhayanidhi Stalin as the actor will be officially entering politics after the release of the movie.

    The movie also marks the first collaboration between the director and noted music composer A. R. Rahman.

    During the press event for his web series Vaazhai, the director believed was his dream project. Mari Selvaraj also thanked Dhruv and Vikram for their patience and for giving him the time to wrap his other projects 

    Meanwhile, Vikram is gearing up for the release of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyen Selvam 2, which will be released on 28 April 2023.
