Sunita and Anil share a love story for the ages and have been married for over 38 years. The actor who often speak about his wife with his heart in his eyes and never missed any occasion to shower her with affection on social media. However, did you know that after their spur of the moment decision to get married in 1984, Sunita went for their honeymoon alone while the actor was shooting for a film in Mumbai?

After Anil Kapoor ’s acting career took off, the actor who had been dating Sunita for five years decided to call her after he had signed the film Meri Jung and ask her to him the very next day. Sunita however, had a condition, she wanted him to have a house and a cook before they tied the knot.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Anil revealed how after signing the film he finally thought he could meet Sunita’s conditions and decided to marry her. “I thought, now house will come, kitchen will come, help will come...I can get married! So I called Sunita & said, ‘Let’s get married tomorrow – it’s tomorrow or never’ and the next day, we were married! I went for shoot 3 days later and madam went abroad on our honeymoon...without me!” he told the publication a few years ago.

As Sunita turns a year older today, Anil Kapoor’s love for his wife has only grown. The couple is all set to welcome their first grand child as their daughter Sonam Kapoor is expecting a first baby soon. In a sweet birthday note, Anil showered Sunita with affection and expressed excitement as the soon to be grandparents are on the cusp of a new chapter in life together.
