According to writer Michael Waldron when he asked the Studio about adding the character he was told that the Studio has other plans for Namor.

Ever since Black Panther 2's announcement, there have been rumors that the movie will focus on the centuries-long conflict between Wakanda and Atlantis.

With the recent leaks it has been revealed that Marvel has already started the casting process for the character and that Narcos actor Tenoch Huerta may have been finalized for the role. The studio is planning a spinoff series to further flesh out the character and the city of Atlantis according to a few other reports.

According to an inside source, Marvel would like to introduce Namor the same way they did Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War in the upcoming Black Panther sequel.

Writer Michael Waldron says in an interview with Variety, "We] talked about him, because he’s certainly an original member of the Illuminati. But I think Marvel has other plans for him in the MCU. And so he didn’t make his way in this particular movie."

Namor made his first comic book appearance in 1939 and was created by writer-artist Bill Everett, the son of a human sea captain and the princess of Atlantis he has the superhuman strength and speed, the ability to communicate with aquatic life, and the power of flight. He is often portrayed as an antihero who is good-natured but short-tempered.

We will have to wait till we get more news from the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which wrapped filming in March and is set to hit the big screen on October 11, 2022.
