Earlier in April this year, Akshaye Khanna had joined the cast of Drishyam 2. Tabu had shared a post welcoming him to the team by stating, “Delighted to have a gem of an actor on board for #Drishyam2 Akshaye Khanna #TrulyTalented.” The first part of the crime-thriller, helmed by the late Nishikant Kamat, was a remake of the 2013 Mohanlal -led Malayalam-language movie Drishyam. Headlined by Ajay Devgn, the Hindi adaptation chronicled the story of a family of four whose lives turn upside down following an unfortunate incident with their older daughter.

The sequel, helmed by Abhishek Pathak, will see Devgn reprise his role as Vijay Salgoankar who was in the previous film, seen to go to great lengths to protect his family.
