Despite sharing the screen with superstars such as Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor along with the popular Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani , Maniesh has managed to shine bright. In fact, his hilarious one-liners have become a highlight of the comedy drama.

Well, in an exclusive interview with Desimartini, the actor revealed that he said yes to Jugjugg Jeeyo even before hearing about his character or reading the script. Maniesh shared, “Yaar actually Karan (Johar) sir ka call aaya tha, so there was no second thought on that. He called me ki Maniesh there’s a film we’re making its called Jugjugg Jeeyo and I want you to be a part of it, there’s a very interesting character and I think you will do great in that. So maine unko poocha hi nahi. Maine kaha okay done main aa raha hun. He said achha role toh sun lo. Maine kaha nahi nahi aapne phone kiya hai sir baat khatam ho gayi.”

He went on to explain, “So you know there is a huge respect for Karan sir aur unke vision ko main challenge nahi karna chahta ki unko main poochun script kya hai, ya kitna lamba kaam hai. Kuchh nahi, I said I’m doing it. Aur mujhe yaad hai main uske baad Raj Mehta sir ko mila aur jab maine script suni I said ‘Bingo! Let’s go for it.’”

Isn’t it wonderful how well things work out when you trust your gut, or the filmmaker, and dive right in? We wish Maniesh only the best for his future projects.
