Exclusive- Vidya Balan on massy entertainers: ‘I’d love to do the female version of Rohit Shetty’s cop films’

Vidya Balan is undoubtedly one of the most seasoned, versatile performers of Indian cinema. In her Bollywood career, spanning over 17 golden years, fans have had the chance to follow her journey and evolution into an icon. While her path began with glamorous roles, she eventually switched to characters that were charismatic but also left a deep impact on the audience. Today, Vidya Balan is a brand in herself and there is a section of fans who rely on what she has to offer before booking their tickets. Well, currently the beauty is soaring high on the success of her recently released film Jalsa.

In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, we asked Vidya if she would ever consider being a part of a massy entertainer in the future. The actress left us pleasantly surprised with a glint of excitement in her eyes as she replied, “Oh, I’d love to do a massy entertainer. I’d love to do the female version of one of those Rohit Shetty cop films. Yeah, like I’d love to do that! I love massy films.” Well, we can most definitely imagine boss lady Vidya as a cop, out to fight the baddies in a Rohit Shetty action entertainer!

The actress also shared if expectations of the audience puts her under pressure. Vidya explained, “No I don’t feel any kind of pressure. I just feel happy and grateful that people shower me with so much love and I see their expectations as encouragement to do my best. But I don’t take the pressure at all. I only work for myself, so my choices are only guided by what I want to do.”

Well, we are now eagerly hoping that filmmaker Rohit Shetty and Vidya Balan join forces for their next film after this interview!
