Faissal Khan feels Aamir’s apology before Laal Singh Chaddha’s release was ‘opportunistic’; was not wowed by the film
Aamir Khan’s brother Faissal Khan has shared his very honest opinion on the superstar’s apology as well as his review of Laal Singh Chaddha.
One of the first Bollywood films to fall prey to the boycott trend on social media was Laal Singh Chaddha . Fans were excited about it because it is the Hindi remake of Forrest Gump. But in the end many decided not to watch it, claiming that some statements made by lead star Aamir Khan in the past were ‘anti-national’. A day before the film arrived in theatres, during a media interaction, the actor apologized for unintentionally hurting sentiments in the past. He also added that he would respect the decision of fans who don’t want to watch Laal Singh Chaddha.
Well, in a recent interview with ETimes, Aamir’s brother Faissal Khan shared that it was right of the superstar to apologize, because it helps one become a better human being. But Faissal went on to add, “He should have apologised immediately after that thing came out, not when his film was releasing. That seems opportunistic. But if someone doesn’t realise that they might have hurt someone then I don’t know about that. Because you don’t know when realisation dawns upon someone.”
Faissal further shared that he watched Laal Singh Chaddha and found it good in parts, but not completely. He felt Aamir should have selected a better script because he was coming back to the silver screen after 4 long years. Faissal explained, “With Aamir and other good actors you expect them to do too good work. They should blow your mind. But that didn’t happen with Laal Singh Chaddha, unfortunately. It was not a “wow!” film.”
Well, there are some critics who would agree with Faissal. While majority of the viewers found Laal Singh Chaddha heartwarming, audiences did feel it could be better. What did you think of the Aamir and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer?
