Swara Bhasker and her politician husband Fahad Ahmad on Thursday hosted a grand wedding reception. Not only their family and friends, but the reception witnessed some high-profile political personalities in attendance. Congress Party leaders Rahul Gandhi , Shashi Tharoor, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal , TMC leader Derek O’Brien came to bless the newly weds at the reception which was dubbed as #SwaadAnusaar. Veteran actress and Samajwadi party member Jaya Bachchan also turned up in a white ensemble. The pictures and videos from the reception has been doing rounds on the internet.
For the reception, Swara opted for a pink and golden lehenga while her husband complimented her in a cream-coloured sherwani and white pyjama. In one of the videos, Rahul could be seen arriving with his team and posing with the newlyweds on the stage. Swara’s mother is also seen talking to the Congress leader. Reacting to the video, one of the fans wrote, “Next Prime Minister of India”, another netizen asked, “Modiji ko nahi Bulaya?” For the unversed, Swara also joined Rahul in his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ujjain Madhya Pradesh last year.
After dating for a quite a long time, Swara and Fahad got married in a court under Special Marriage Act earlier this year. She took to Instagram to share the news with a self-explanatory video of how they fall in love with each other. “Sometimes you search far & wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other!Welcome to my heart@FahadZirarAhmadIt’s chaotic but it’s yours!” she captioned the post. Ever since then the couple has been holding several wedding festivities right from Haldi, Mehendi, to Sangeet. Most recently she hosted a Qawwali night which was graced by former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.
