Govinda shot in the leg after his gun misfires, rushed to hospital; manager confirms actor's 'condition is fine'

Today, by sheer accident, Bollywood actor Govinda got shot in his leg after his gun misfired. In no time, the actor was rushed to the hospital, where he was admitted in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). The latest update is that the actor has now been discharged and is doing fine.

Here’s what happened. At around 4.45 am today, Bollywood actor Govinda was getting ready for his trip to Kolkata. The 60-year-old actor cum politician had kept his licensed revolver in the cupboard, which fell from his hand and as a result, a bullet had got fired accidentally, which landed up hitting the actor’s leg.

Speaking to ANI, Govinda’s manager said, “Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He kept his licensed revolver in the cupboard when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now”.

As per a news report in NDTV, the actor’s manager had said that they had a 6 am flight to be caught for a show in Kolkata and that he had reached the airport. He added that Govinda ji was about to leave his residence for the airport when this accident happened. He added that it was due to God's grace that Govinda ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious.

From the hospital itself, actor Govinda sent a voice note to the media personnel, wherein he said that, “Namaskar, pranaam, Main Hoon Govinda. Aap sab logon ka aashirwad aur maa baap kaa aashirwaad hai aur Guru ki kripa ke wajah se… mujhe jo goli lagi thi, woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyawaad detaa hun yahan ke Doctor kaa …aadarniya Dr Agarwaal ji kaa aur aap sab logon ki praarthana jo hai… aap logon ka dhanyawaad”.

(Greetings. I am Govinda. With your blessings and prayers, along with that of my parents and Guru, the bullet that had hit me has now been removed. I am thankful to everyone esp. Dr Agarwal. My gratitude towards everyone).

Within minutes of the incident, the actor was immediately taken for treatment to the nearby Criticare hospital, which is based in Mumbai. The latest update on the actor is that he has now been discharged, as per a news report in PTI. As for Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, she is presently in Kolkata.

The aforementioned report stated that the police had said that he (Govinda) had not registered any complaint. Watch this space for further updates and developments.
