Here's why Manisha Koirala missed 25-year celebration of Gupt with Bobby Deol and Kajol

As the 1997 movie Gupt clocked 25 years, Bobby Deol and Kajol reunited to celebrate the milestone in a big way with the screening of the film. Manish Koirala, who played a crucial part in the movie, was missed at the event. The latest report suggests that filmmaker Rajiv Rai could not get the date where both the actress would have been available. So, he surprisingly chose to go ahead with the event without Manisha.

Several pictures and videos from the event have flooded social media as fans took a trip down memory lane reliving the cult classic that is Gupt. While they were elated to see Kajol and Bobby coming together after so long, they couldn't help but notice the absence of Manisha and wondered why she couldn't be a part of the celebrations. Well, according to Etimes, Manisha was supposed to attend the function if it would have held on July 2, but that day Kajol was busy. When the filmmaker shifted the dates to July 9, Manisha said she can’t make it. Hence, Rai took the call and chose to go ahead with Kajol only.

For the uninitiated, Manisha played the role of Sheetal in the movie who Sahil aka Bobby eventually ends up with. While Kajol's character Isha is an obsessive love of Sahil who goes on a killing spree when she's not allowed to be with him. Sahil is framed for the murders and sentenced to jail but he escapes to find the real culprit. In a shocking twist, it is revealed to be Isha(Kajol). The film also has Om Puri, Raj Babbar, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in extended cameo roles.

Meanwhile, Manisha was last seen in the 2021American comedy-drama, India Sweets and Spices alongside Sophia Ali, Rish Shah, and Adil Hussain . She will next be seen in Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada which stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The film is the Hindi remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo which starred Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde .
